It's better to be safe than sorry. Northern parts of South Africa are Malaria areas and malaria is potentially a fatal disease so please ensure that you consult your doctor as to what prophylactics you should take for that particular country or region being that there are many different strains of Malaria.

Please check with your doctor on what inoculations the country you are visiting requires. For example if you require a Yellow Fever Vaccination then you will need an Inoculation Certificate to take with you on holiday. Failure to do so will definitely result in you not being allowed to enter that country

It is always advisable to take out medical insurance prior to any international travel.

Listen to your guide and listen to all safety talks then you definitely won’t find yourself in any danger. You will even get up close and personal with the most dangerous animals in the comfort of a safari vehicle so don’t ever for a moment think you can do your own thing because a person in their territory is considered a threat and animals will react violently. In this case, the threat would be you. So follow instructions and you will be safe.

Of course any city which is the centre of all economic activity is bound to have criminal activities and be unsafe but at Stephenson Adventures, your safety comes first. Make sure to listen to your guide, lock all car doors and windows. Take as little money as possible and leave the rest at the hotel. Leave your valuable things such as watches, necklaces behind as they won’t even be necessary on Johannesburg tour.

No pets are allowed to avoid transferring diseases and for the general safety of your pet. An exception can be made for a guide dog should you be visually impaired so you will need to inform your consultant in advance so that a proper license is obtained.
